Through educational activities we link different groups of our society for a democratic and open Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Our vision is a society in which all groups live together - not just next to each other - without differentiation according to the age, gender, traditions or beliefs, in which every individual has an equal chance to participate in creating of society and all take responsibility for shaping of its future.
In order to make a contribution towards this goal, PONS is carrying out educational activities in three main fields:
- dialogue and cooperation between all groups of society
- support to underprivileged groups of society
- development of a strong civil society
PONS creates opportunities for dialogue and cooperation between all groups of society and promotes constructive ways to deal with the past.
Wars have created a lot of mistrust and misunderstanding between the different groups in our country that we should overcome together.
If we want Bosnia and Herzegovina to become and stay a peaceful and prosperous country, we have to start talking and working together again and find our way towards reconciliation.
In our projects we invite all groups on cooperation in order to overcome fears and prejudices and recognize the others as individuals with the same problems and goals, no matter which group they belong to.
PONS helps underprivileged groups to develop their potentials in order to participate in social changes.
In a developed democratic society, all citizens should have equal chances and equal rights. PONS therefore supports underpriviledged groups to help them find their place in society.
Very important group are young people, who often find few opportunities to be active and develop their talents, especially in smaller towns like the ones PONS is working in. Active and creative young people are the most important resource for development and democratisation of society, thus with our work we want to offer them opportunities to become significant actors of all development processes of civil society.
PONS supports the development of a strong civil society that will enable all groups and individuals to participate in shaping of their environment together.
Due to great amount of social and economic problems in Bosnia and Herzegovina many people feel helpless and do not believe that common citizen can make some changes. With our activities, we want to encourage people to become actively involved in democratic processes in society and to prove in practice that it is possible to make a difference when relying on own skills and knowledge. Also, due to exchange of experience and gained knowledge and through common activities of all actors, we can make contribution towards development and democratization of civil society in general.
